Painter of Nostalgic Watercolors

When you gaze at the watercolors of Annabelle Vandemark, her rural background and life experiences glow beneath the subtle handling of her subjects.

Born and nurtured on a northwest Ohio farm, she has lived her life surrounded by nature, hard work and the emotions of rural living.

Her love and understanding of country life is evident in her paintings, each one luring you into an enjoyable moment of country living.

Annabelle paints from her memories of America past, a simple life compared to today when at times, we are too quick to destroy our heritage.

She is a self-taught artist, not having such classes available when she was in school.

After raising her children, she began to concentrate on watercolors, fulfilling her inner need to express her great love of our country and nature that surrounds us. By continuing to paint and by way of painting workshops, Annabelle has developed her own personal style.

Her work has been the subject of numerous shows and is on display in many public buildings in the area. She organized and has promoted the Lima Area Watercolor Society. As well, she is a member of the Western Ohio Watercolor Society and the Dayton Ohio Society of Painters and Sculptors.
